Club Awards

Knox United has many perpetual awards that are presented to club members at the end of season presentation days. These awards are a very prestigious achievement to get. The different type of awards that the club have, rage from good sportsmanship, to most outstanding players to most improvement and more. All recipients of these perpetual awards are forever etched into the clubs history.


CLUBMAN OF THE YEAR

Clubman of the Year, is award to a person who has shown great support and dedication to the club on and off the field. This person has gone above and beyond to help the club in aspect outside of playing.
Created in 2023, the recipient of this award can any player, coach, supporter or manager from any age group or division at the club.

Mark Jennings Good Sportsmanship Award, was established in 2024 in order to help recognised not only good skilled players but to recognised played that show exceptional good sportsmanship. This award is awarded to 2 members of the club who have shown good sportsmanship on and off the filed throughout the season. This award is names in honour of Mark Jennings, recognition his long term commitment and dedication to the club with being the highest goal scoring player in the club’s history.
This award can be awarded to any player, coach or manager at the club.

The Andrew Abbott Medal is was created in 2008 and is awarded to the men’s most valuable player from the club’s 2nd grade squad/team. The award is named in honour of one of the clubs founding members and Club president from 2000 – 2003, Andrew Abbott.

TIM COOK TROPHY
PL Reserve Team
Most Valuable Player

The Tim Cook Trophy the second ever created perpetual trophy, it is awarded to the most valuable player in the clubs 1st grade reserve team.
The Tim Cook cup was named in memory of Tim Cook, who played at the club in the early 2000s. Tim was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at a young age and despite this, lived his life to the full.
He joined the club in the early 2000s and played with fighting spirit whenever his health allowed. He inspired those around him to strive to compete to the best of their ability right up until his final whistle was blown.
The club sought to honour his presence and spirit by awarding the Tim Cook Cup for the Most Valuable Player in the team Tim played in (first grade reserve team, best Men’s All Age team in the club)

VINCE CALI MEDAL
Junior Player of the Year

With the creating of the club’s junior program in 2019, the Vince Cali Medal, was established shortly after, named after the founder of Knox United’s Junior Program.
This medal is awarded to a junior player (Under 12’s to Under 18’s) who has shown amazing spirit and passion for the game. This player also encompasses the values of the club, and has been an invaluable player throughout the season.

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER

TROPHY

The Most Improved Club Player was the 3rd established perpetual trophy, which signalled 10 years of Knox United. Awarded to a play who across the whole club has show great development and improvement in all aspects of the game. This member has sought to improve their skills to better themselves and the team and can be awarded to any player from any age group or division at the club.

Senior Golden Boot

The Matthew Feros Trophy is awarded to the senior player who has scored the most goals in a single season.
Being the 4th perpetual trophy, this is named in honour of the clubs longest serving club president (2006 – 2012) Matthew Feros. This award can be awarded to any senior player in the club, and is commonly known as ‘The Golden Boot’.

The McCarroll’s Medal for is awarded to the Women’s Most Outstanding Player at the club every season. With the implementation of the club’s Female Football Program in 2025, this inaugural award is seen as the the most prestigious award that can be awarded to a female player. The McCarroll’s Medal is name in honour of one of the club’s Major Sponsors McCarroll Automotive Group, who have been an instrumental help in the development of the clubs Female Football Program.
Chosen by the coaches, the McCarroll’s Medal is awarded to the player in the club’s highest women’s team.

WILLS BROTHERS MEDAL
Men’s Most Outstanding Player

The Wills Brothers Medal was re-named in 2023 from the John Bradfield Medal who was on original founding member of the club. This award is awarded to the men’s most outstanding player at the club every season and award is seen as the the most prestigious award that can be awarded to a male player.
Being the first perpetual award at the club, it has history dating back to the clubs inaugural year in 1995. Re-named in honour of the Wills Brothers, Lachlan and Cameron, who also have a long history with the club and have equally played their role in the development and longevity of the club.
Chosen by the coaches, the Wills Brothers Medal is awarded to the player in the club’s highest men’s team.
